Eta Aquarids Is Definitely Going To Sizzle The Sky This Month

In the first half of the year, there are chances that the meteor shower that of a spectacular version can be expected owing to the great conditions seen this week. On May 7, the viewers can actively observe the Eta Aquarids as it is considered to be officially active that day. However, there are chances the shower could be devoid of the generally seen sharp peak that is the upcoming nights will provide one with a splendid show. The cloudless skies and low pollution can clearly give an individual a good opportunity to spot at least 25–30 shooting stars and the chances increases while moving more towards the South.

When the people in the South continuously view the sky there are possibilities that the meteor would appear lower in the sky. Thus, there is no doubt the Australians can get a clear view of the conditions without any interruptions. The Halley’s Comet that was spotted in 1986 is known to let out the particles in the form of shooting stars. The bits and pieces of space dust are confirmed to arise from the centuries-old comets that pass by the planet. The particles are known to move at a speed of about 66.9km/sec just like the bright fireballs. In October of every year, there is the Orionid meteor shower that is a result of the debris cloud of Halley’s Comet. The Eta Aquarids are going to be a little inconvenient to look for unless you are an early bird.

The local time 2–3 am is when the show starts and likely ends after an hour or half for the people living in 50° North latitude that is for the  French, Canadian, and British people. If one move towards the South then the longer it gets that is the Australians have a 4–5 Hour show in all. The water jar in the constellation Aquarius can be spotted early in the morning. It is a good year as the Moon would not be shadowing the view and good weather could make the experience worthwhile. At the International Academy of Astronautics’ Planetary Defence Conference, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine clearly explained that the chances of Earth being hit by a meteor are higher just like the 2013 Chelyabinsk Event. Thus, the space agency is working with Space X company to turmoil towards redirecting threatening meteors. The Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) is ready to launch a rocket to deflect the near-Earth asteroid.
