Watch: VP Leni Robredo Apologizes to Binay for Saying She’s the Most Diligent HUDCC Chief (Video)

Vice President Leni Robredo apologized this Wednesday, December 7 to former Vice President Jejomar Binay for saying that she was the most diligent Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), despite being in that position for 5 months only. Binay has been HUDCC chief for 6 years. Watch VP Robredo’s video saying sorry to Binay.

“According to VP (Leni) Robredo, she is perhaps the only HUDCC chair who personally attends board meetings and works on weekends and at home. I cannot speak for the other previous HUDCC chairs but perhaps she hasn’t heard of former VP Binay’s work ethic. We don’t need to trample on others to raise ourselves.” Binay’s spokesperson, Joey Salgado said Tuesday.

Salcedo noted that Binay has obviously served as HUDCC chief longer than Robredo, whom President Rodrigo Duterte called last July and offered him the said cabinet post. Binay, who ran for president last May 2016 elections, was appointed to the post by then-President Benigno ‘Noynoy’ Aquino III in July 2010. He resigned from office in June 2015.

“Siguro mali ‘yung pagkakasabi ko. Siguro ang pagkasabi ko is just to emphasize na ‘yung passion at ‘yung commitment at ‘yung hard work na pinu-push ko siguro hindi naman ‘yun matatawaran,” VP Robredo told reporters at the sidelines of the Teachers’ Congress in Surigao City this Wednesday. She formally resigned as HUDCC chief last Monday.

“Mali lang siguro ang aking pagkasabi and naga-apologize din ako….Sa akin, ‘yung pagkasabi ko na ako na yata ‘yung pinakamahusay, mali ‘yung pagkasabi dahil ang gusto ko lang sabihin ay hindi matatawaran ang aking pagpagod, pero hindi para sabihin na mas mahusay ako, o mas masipag ako sa kaniya.” The lady vice president added.
