Maria Teresa Hernandez Yap, or simply Teresa Yap, the mother of Angelica Jane Yap aka Pastillas Girl of ABS-CBN’s ‘It’s Showtime’s was shot dead this Sunday, November 29, 2015. The untoward incident happened in Barangay 131 , Caloocan City, and was caught on CCTV in the area. Watch the video below. (Note: The CCTV footage video was edited to make it less graphic. Watch with caution.)
According to ABS-CBN News, Teresa Yap was with her niece and daughter (not Angelica Jane), and was about to eat in an eatery in Tagaytay street when the gunman appeared from behind and shot her at close range. The suspect fled immediately via a motorcyle as Pastillas Girl’s mom fell on the ground. He was seen on the CCTV but his face was covered because he is wearing a helmet.
Despite the surprise attack, her companions quickly responded to her. Her family immediately brought to Chinese General Hospital but she didn’t make it, and she was pronounced dead at 9:20 pm. Pastillas Girl’s mother is known to be a Barangay councilor (kagawad) in their area. A close relative named Tumping Fabian told the paper that Teresa has been receiving death threats.
The relative said there were text messages telling Pastillas Girl’s mom that she will be finished before Christmas, but the latter ignored the danger. As of posting, local authorities are still conducting a thorough investigation on this matter. Around 6 hours ago, Angelica Jane Yap (@angelicaj__) tweeted, “Pain demands to be felt” to her 271K followers.
Last September, Teresa Yap appeared on ‘It’s Showtime’ to defend her daughter against bashers, denying that she is pimping her. Angelica Jane Yap was then looking for a new boyfriend via ‘Nasaan ka, Mr. Pastillas?” segment. Allegedly, ‘It’s Showtime’ only used Pastillas Girl to compete with Maine Mendoza, aka Yaya Dub of the phenomenal AlDub love team.
Meanwhile, We at TN strongly condemn violence and the brutal killing of Teresa Yap. We hope justice be served as soon as possible. We would also to extend our condolences to Pastillas Girl and to the entire Yap family for their loss. We are sure AlDub Nation is also sending the same message – Justice for Mommy Pastillas!
