Watch: Robbery Suspect Cries After Realizing Judge is his Former Classmate (Video)

Court judge suspect former classmate

Meet Arthur Booth, who was arrested last Monday, June 29 and has been charged with burglary, grand theft, and resisting arrest. This Thursday, he appeared in court and he was surprised to know that the judge is his former classmate. In fact, he can’t help but to cry in front of her. Watch the video below of their emotional reunion.

Booth, 49, was arrested in Miami-Dade County after a long car chase. When he appeared in court, Judge Mindy Glazer asked him a very interesting question that melted him and eventually made him cry. She asked him if he went to Nautilus Middle School, and the suspect suddenly realized she was his classmate then.

“I’m sorry to see you there, I always wondered what happened to you sir. This was the nicest kid in middle school; he was the best kid in middle school. I used to play football with him and all the kids, and look what has happened.” Judge Glazer said, with the suspect covering his head and face and eventually burst into tears.

“I am so sorry to see you there. Mr. Booth, I hope you are able to change your ways, good luck to you. What’s sad is how old we’ve become. Good luck to you sir, I hope you are able to come out of this OK and just lead a lawful life.” The judge added, as she tries to pacify her former classmate and gives her some words of encouragement.

According to reports, a cousin of Arthur Booth said he used to be scholar, well-rounded athlete, and bilingual. But everything changed when he went to college. He was involved in illegal drugs and eventually crimes. The suspect’s bond is $44,000 but it is not yet known as to whether he has already hired an attorney.

This very emotional reunion teaches a very good lesson. Many of us started as bright students when we were young. But along the way, some of us were not able to resist temptation. Some of us may lack support from family, while others did not really grow up. But regardless of the reason, only we can choose which path we shall take.

For Mr. Booth, I believe that seeing his former classmate on the opposite side of his situation is a wake up call for him. After watching him, I can see that he is a good man buy has chosen the wrong path. On the other hand, I must commend Judge Mindy Glazer not only for what she is, but also how she managed to be firm but compassionate.
