Meet Cyrus Villanueva, the Pinoy singer who wowed the X Factor Australia judges and crowd as well with his enchanting voice during his audition and the so-called 5 Seat Challenge. And yes, he is now among the Final 20 contestants of the said show who are bound for London. Watch his stunning performances on the videos below.

According to his social media accounts, Cyrus Villanueva is an 18-year singer/songwriter based in Wollongong, Australia. He has just finished school last year, and is now studying graphic design. His father is a Filipino, while his mother is an Australian. He admits being a huge fan of Guy Sebastian, the first winner of Australian Idol back in 2003 and is now one of The X Factor Australia judges.

During his audition just last week, the Filipino singer sang an acoustic version of The Weeknd’s “Earned It”, a soundtrack from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, while playing the guitar. As you can see, the judges and the crowd immediately liked his performance. received a standing ovation, and you can see his mother in tears of happiness.

During his 5 Seat Challenge performance, Cyrus Villanueva played the piano while singing his slower version of Robyn’s “Dancing on My Own.” As expected, he received good comments from the judges, and judge Chris Isaak gave his the fifth and last slot for his ‘men-under-25’ category where he will be the mentor.

This Wednesday, Cyrus Villanueva sang his version of Bob Marley’s ‘Is This Love,’ in front of X Factor UK judges Simon Cowell and Rita Ora, and his mentor Chris Isaak during the Super Home Visit. Here, the Pinoy singer can’t hide his shyness when he met Ora who told him he had an incredible performance during the 5 Seat Challenge.
