Watch: Pinay Transgender Trixie Martistela Wins Miss International Queen 2015 (Video)

Filipino transgender woman Trixie Martistela won the Miss International Queen 2015 title this Friday, November 6, held at the Tiffany Show Theater in Pattaya, Thailand. The 29-year-old Pinay beauty beat 26 other candidates from around the world in what is dubbed as the world’s largest transgender pageant. Watch her reaction after winning on the video below.

“I still can’t believe that I won. Right now, I don’t know what I’m gonna do next. But I’m very thankful to be given this chance to be Miss International Queen, a very prestigious pageant for transgenders like me. This kind of pageant empowers transwomen like us because Thailand, especially the organizers of Miss International Queen, made us feel that we’re very important people.” Trixie Martistela told

“I dedicate this to my family and most especially to my trans family, not just in the Philippines but in the world,”  Martistela added, who is now the second Filipino transgender to win the said pageant after Kevin Balot won the same title in 2012. The first runner-up was Brazil’s Valeska Dominik, while Thailand’s Sophida Sirawatununokul landed as 2nd runner-up.

For the Miss International Queen 2015 Q&A, Trixie Martistela’s question was, “How do you compare beauty inside and beauty outside?” Here is her answer:

“Beauty from the inside starts from the heart but beauty from outside is just a physical appearance. In the end, what matters is… beauty in the inside will radiate outside because a true queen does not want just a beautiful face or golden crown, but a true queen also possess a golden heart.”

Trixie Martistela was crowned by last year’s winner, Isabella Santiago of Venezuela. The two Filipino transgender women who also joined are Michelle Binas and Francine Garcia (Eat Bulaga’s Super Sireyna 2013 winner). The Miss International Queen started in 2004, where the most numbers of winners came from its home country, Thailand, in 2004, 2007, and 2011.

In case you don’t know, Trixie Martistela is a contract star of Viva Artists Agency, and a graduate of BA European Languages from the University of the Philippines in Diliman. She is also the winner of Miss Gay Philippines-Universe 2011, the winner of Super Sireyna Philippines 2014, the Super Sireyna World 2014 first runner-up, and the reigning Miss Gay Manila.
