Watch: Pedicab Driver Shot Dead in Tondo, Manila by Riding-in-Tandem, Caught on CCTV (Video)

A pedicab driver was shot dead this Wednesday, August 3 at around 8:26 pm in Tondo, Manila. The incident was captured on CCTV of the barangay, and the gunman was riding at the back of a motorcycle rider. The riding-in-tandem was so fast that everything happened in less than a minute. Watch the video below with extra precaution. Kids should not watch this.

According to a certain RoseAnn Del Rosario San Pedro, who uploaded the CCTV video on her Facebook page, the bloody incident happened Peñalosa corner Franco Street, Brgy. 78, Zone 7, Tondo, Manila. As you can see, the victim was standing near a tricycle in the busy street, when the riding-in-tandem appeared from behind, one of them shot him at close range.

Apparently, you can also see two young boys playing and running near the pedicab driver who was then wearing a cap, just split seconds before the shooting took place. People very near to the victim were shocked, as the riding-in-tandem disappears from the camera. A woman from across the street came to check the victim’s body lying on the street.

The faces of the riding-in-tandem were not seen on the CCTV footage because the driver was wearing a helmet while the gunman was wearing a cap. As reported at Radyo Inquirer, the victim was identified as Danilo Mendoza, who was pronounced dead-on-arrival at Mary Johnston Hospital also in Tondo, with one gunshot wound in his neck.

The same report added that the victim is a known police asset in their area, according to Barangay Chairman Rody Inocencio. The suspects are still at large, after they escaped going to Sta. Maria St, Tondo. As of posting, the case is still under thorough investigation, and the motive of the killing is still unknown, but some people believe that it may be connected to illegal drugs.
