Watch: Jose Manalo as President Duterte, Meets ‘Leni Robredo’ at Sunday Pinasaya (Full Video)
Comedian Jose Manalo made a spoof of presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte on GMA-7’s ‘Sunday Pinasaya’ this Sunday, May 15. The comedy skit, which was part of the segment ‘Star Buzz’, also featured ‘Leni Robredo,’ ‘Kris Aquino’ and ‘Boy Abunda’, along with Ai-Ai delas Alas. Watch the full video below, and prepare to laugh hard.
At the start of the segment, Kapuso star Barbie Forteza appeared as Kris Aquino and wore a yellow shirt. Next is comedian Wally Bayola as Boy Abunda, and Ai-Ai delas Alas as herself. The said segment appears to be spoof of two defunct shows of ABS-CBN, The Buzz and Aquino & Abunda Tonight, but with some additional twists.
Shortly, the three hosts discussed some Hot Topics including the controversial photos of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo last May 9, election day. That day, the Kathniel love team voted separately, but both of them uploaded their selfies inside their respective polling precincts, showing holding their covered ballots to the camera.
Later, they proceeded to their sub-segment which was dubbed as Hot Psssst. First to came is Congresswoman Simpleni Robredo, who was spoofed by UP Mass Communication student Joierie Ann Pacumio, whose video went viral when she impersonated Leni Robredo during their UP Samaskom 31st LIVE AIDS show last month.

Being a Leni Robredo impersonator, Pacumio is not only a Leni-Robredo look-alike, she is also very good in imitating the voice of the LP vice-presidential bet. Nevertheless, it was Davao City Mayor and President-elect Rodney Jeterte, portrayed by Jose Manalo that really stole the show. And just like Duterte, Jose was wearing a checkered polo.
Jose Manalo as Duterte was very funny and convincing, as he was effective in imitating the mannerisms of the mayor and the way he speaks. The crowd was very pleased not only with the funny dialogues of the four of them, although the comedy is light and simple. Nevertheless, we should say that Jose and Barbie were very good.
