A female Indian TV news anchor named Supreet Kaur unexpectedly read a Breaking News about death of her husband following a fatal road crash this Saturday, April 8 via live TV. But despite the bad news, the IBC 24 TV news anchor kept her composure until she finished her job, and received praises for being brave. Watch video below.
According to Indian Express, Supreet Kaur was on her regular news broadcast in Chhattisgarh at 10 am last Saturday. But around 15 minutes of reading the news, she has to read the news of a road accident in Mahasamund, where three people died. Via phone, Kaur talked to a reporter, who provided more details, but did not mention the names of the victims.
After the Breaking News report, Kaur continued to read other news for about 10 more minutes. She broke down into tears once the cameras were off, because she had a feeling that her husband Harsad Kawade could be one of the casualties. She called the news reporter again off, and learned that her fear was correct.
“As she read out the news, she found out that it was the vehicle her husband was to travel in in that region on the same day. Even though the reporter on the ground did not give out names, the team could tell that she had found out. The production team had also just found out, but could not tell her as she was live on television.” A IBC 24 senior editor said.
The senior editor noted that Supreet Kaur has been working at IBC 24 for nine years, is one of the most popular anchors in in Chhattisgarh. And although her husband’s death was truly devastating, people across India who saw her on live TV could not help but admire her professional. The news channel was proud of her, despite the tragedy.
