Watch: Drug Lord Herbert Colangco Donated P50-M to Presidentiable, Former Drug Pusher Says (Video)
Herbert Colangco, who was earlier named by President Rodrigo Duterte as one of the country’s top drug lords, donated P50 million as campaign funds to one of the presidential candidates in the 2016 elections. This is according to a former drug pusher who surrendered to PNP (Philippine National Police) Chief Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa. Watch the video below.
In his interview with GMA News reporter Raffy Tima via 24 Oras this Thursday, July 14, a certain Lito said he was giving P150,000 to a PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) officer every week, as protection money so he can operate his in illegal drugs trade in the three towns in his province. He added that this PDEA officer has connections with politicians in their town.
Lito, who first went to GMA-7 asked the network to help him surrender to the PNP, noted that this PDEA officer is threatening to file a case against him every time his payment is late. The name of the PDEA officer was not disclosed because he is still active in service, and the allegation is now under thorough investigation of PNP under its new leadership.
Later, the pusher-turned-whistleblower revealed information about the source of his drugs, Herbert “Ampang” Colangco, who is now enjoying his life inside the New Bilibid Prison. Dubbed as the “concert king” in jail, Ampang Colangco is a convicted Ozamiz Robbery Gang leader and has been serving time at the maximum security compound since 2009.
Nevertheless, it was learned that Colangco transformed his ‘kubol’ into a complete recording studio. Back in December 2014, his music video which was shot inside in what people call as New Bilibid Recording Studio, featuring his song “Pa’no ‘Yon”, the carrier single of his album, “Kinabukasan,” which turned platinum, allegedly selling 15,000 copies.
According to Lito, Colangco told him via a phone conversation that he gave P50 million to one of the 2016 presidentiables whose name was not revealed. As we all know, former Vice President Jejomar Binay, former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas,and senators Mirriam Defensor-Santiago.and Grace Poe ran for president along with then-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
