An anti-Marcos burial protester was eaten alive by some pro-Marcos supporters this Friday, November 25, the so-called Black Friday protest against the burial of the late-president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB). But of course, we did not mean it literally. However, it’s very clear that someone lost the Martial Law debate. Watch video below.
As you can see, a group of protesters against the Marcos burial had a chance to meet a group of pro-Marcos supporters in the streets. But instead of just quarreling or hurting each other, representatives of both groups had a friendly debate in front of some reporters. The main topic of their debate is the declaration of Martial Law by Marcos on September 21, 1972.
“So if not the Martial Law, what is the best solution? Answer that point in history. Why don’t you answer me?” A Marcos supporter wearing a white T-shirt holding an umbrella asked one of the anti-Marcos burial protesters. Apparently, he intercepted his colleague who was then explaining something. Nevertheless, the latter did not get mad and just let him be.

“It was a complicated situation. There’s no simple answer in 1972.” An anti-Marcos supporter replied. Another one was supposed to explain something, but a Marcos supporter interrupted him, “There are two people who are still alive, Enrile and Ramos. Why don’t you guys tallk to them? Why are you hammering a person who is already dead?”
“That two people are clearly alive who were definitely present during the Martial Law, and they were actually part of what made Martial Law bad. Just because Ramos became president, automatic, nalimutan na nyo. Alam nyo, I have nothing against you, anti-Marcos, pero maging anti din kayo sa lahat ng masasamang nangyari sa bayan natin.” He added.

An anti-Marcos protester agrees with him. “Totoo naman yun. We’re not just anti-Marcos. We’re also anti everthing that made the oppressed, the marginalized and the powerless suffer more. He said while smiling. A Marcos supporter then added, “You guys had 2 Aquino presidents…to pass a law to prevent any Marcos from coming back to the Philippines.”
