The younger Marcos filed an electoral protest on alleged cheating, with the Supreme Court (SC) now sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET).

In his recent speech, President Duterte reminded the public on his previous statement during his presidential campaign that he will allow the burial of Marcos because he believes that the late president was a soldier and a hero, making him qualified to be buried at the Libingan ng mga Bayani. The statement was warmly accepted by the Marcos family.
