Here’s another sad story of abusive people in our society. Two security guards of a Victory Liner bus terminal allegedly forced a sick passenger to leave, while he is resting in the area. Not only that, instead of helping the poor man to stand up, one of them even flashed his middle finger while the passenger took a photo of them.
The story first appeared on the Facebook page of a certain Paul Jan C. Torres last June 26. According to him, the incident happened inside the Victory Liner bus terminal at EDSA near East Avenue, Kamias, Quezon City. Torres did not mentioned the name of the sick passenger, and how he was able to get a copy of the photo.
Nevertheless, Torres said that the passenger felt very dizzy so he has to lie down. Shortly, the two Victory Liner security guards approached and forced him to get up and leave the area. The two security personnel allegedly did not even help him or offered him to be sent to the hospital. One of them raised his middle finger to him.
Torres added that the sick man helplessly left the area and went home. Although the story has not been verified yet, netizens burst to anger and posted negative comments against the two rude security guards. Some of them reported the incident to Victory Liner via their official Facebook page.
“We’ve already made a report of it to the Head Security and to their Agency and currently been giving in action to it, so that this wouldn’t happen again.” A statement was said to be the response of Victory Liner on the incident. The bus company added that the two unidentified security guards have already been fired from their jobs.
“We move people better, safer.” The tagline of Victory Liner says. But if such kind of security guards are working inside their terminals, passengers will use another bus company, and their business will be affected. We therfore commend the quick action of Victory Liner on this matter, and we hope to do the same thing for every complaint they receive.
But of course, thanks also to the concerned netizens who reported the incident right away instead of simply getting mad. Apparently, the social media has been a great tool in exposing abusive people in the society. For the past week, this is the third incident where netizens shared untoward behavior of their fellow Filipinos.
