If you are using LBC Express for sending/receiving money or packages, this news is specifically for you. This is because some LBC Express branches are now closed, especially in Metro Manila. These branches received a closure order from the BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue) due to unpaid taxes. Below is a copy of the said closure order and the statement from LBC Express on the issue.
According to the Instagram post of Little Geka’s Shop this Friday, September 25, 2015, she went to a LBC Express branch at Estrellita Building 2 Alabang-Zapote Road, in Alabang, Muntinlupa but it was alreadly closed. She said found the said closure order posted on its door, and the issued date is September 23, 2015. The effective date of the Order is on that day until it is lifted.
According to the closure notice, the said LBC Express branch and all its branches are closed on the recommendatory report of the Investigation Office, as reviewed by the Regional/National Review Board. The document was issued in Quezon City and was signed by BIR Operation Group Deputy Commissioner Nelson M. Aspe. The branches affected by the closure order are those located in south Metro Manila.
Meanwhile, the LBC Express management through its Customer Service Representative posted a reply to Little Geka’s Shop’s Instagram post also on that day, as well as to a certain Don Ismael on Facebook. According to the courier service company, they are “now taking action on this matter and looking forward at servicing you very soon. As your trusted forwarding company, we make sure all procedures are met in compliance with BIR regulations.”

We at TN commends the action of the BIR on this issue. We just hope that the LBC Express management will keep its promise in taking the necessary action. But for the meantime, we encourage the public to call their office to know which of their branches are still open, and be careful before making any transaction with them.
