Sen Leila de Lima Urged to Undergo Comprehensive Drug Test, After Sen Trillanes Tested Negative

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV underwent a comprehensive drug test at the Medical City, last Monday, October 24, and the result was negative. Now, tons of netizens are urging Sen. Leila de Lima to also undergo the same test. Both senators are huge critics of President Rodrigo Duterte, and even joined forces against him during the Senate hearing on EJK cases last month.

During the said hearing, supposed witness Edgar Matobato said that Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte ordered the killing of a businessman named Richard King on June 24, 2014 in his city, because of an alleged love triangle. Shortly after, the presidential son categorically denied the allegations, saying there is no evidence pointing him as the mastermind.

In an interview early this month, Paolo Duterte claimed that a senator is hooked into drugs. He did the mention the name of the senator in question, but he is willing to expose the identity once he has received a solid evidence that will prove his claim. The young Duterte later challenged all senators to undergo a comprehensive drug test in Metro Manila.

Nevertheless, Sen. Trillanes was quick to say that he is not a drug user, and that he is willing to undergo a drug test any time to prove that he is clean. He also dared Paolo Duterte to reveal the name of that senator. Last month, Vice Mayor Duterte and 23 councilors of Davao City underwent a drug test, and all of them were tested negative.

Meanwhile, tons of Duterte supporters on Facebook challenged Sen. de Lima to also undergo a comprehensive drug test. The troubled senator has a press conference earlier today, and accused former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of helping President Duterte in putting her to jail. As of posting, she has not yet commented on the drug test challenge against her.
