President Rodrigo Duterte offered a government post to Arnell Ignacio, who is a known supporter and defender of the former Davao City mayor during his presidential campaign. He is now part of public service division of PAGCOR (Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation), and not in the entertainment industry as many people have thought of.
“AVP for the Community Relation and Services Department (CRSD). To the President , Chairman Andrea Andrea Domingo and the Filipino people hindi kayo magsisisi. My wholehearted appreciation for the trust you have given me,” Arnell Ignacio wrote on his official Facebook page this Friday, July 8, as the caption for his photo with some PAGCOR officials.
“Pagcor isn’t all about gaming. As the AVP of the Community Relation and Services Department of Pagcor we will be taking massively funded steps to improve health services, comprehensive feeding programs, completion of school buildings etc. No area will be too far from our helping hand.” The comedian-TV host added, who has hosted several game shows in GMA Network in TV5, and even won two Best Game Show Host awards.
In a recent interview with PEP.ph, Arnell Ignacio confirmed that President Duterte offered him a position under his government but declined to reveal further details. Nevertheless, he noted the post is not related in entertainment industry such as Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), adding that he prefers to be in public service.
In his replies to congratulatory comments to his post, Arnell Ignacio said that he was surprised to know that there are many projects in his department that would benefit many Filipinos especially the poor. Many of his friends and his supporters also offered help in his post, while others said they are willing to be volunteers for his public service advocacy.
