Pastor Tells Church Members to Eat Live Snake, Says it Tastes Like Chocolate (Video)

Meet Pastor Penuel Mnguni, who told his church members to literally eat live snakes and that they would taste like chocolate. And based on the video below, some members said the live snakes really taste like chocolate. However, this bizarre act of worship did not last long, as the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) had him arrested.
The creepy photos were first posted last July 14 on the official Facebook of End Times Disciples Ministries, where Pastor Penuel is serving as the leader of the congregation in Soshanguve, Pretoria, in South Africa. As you can see, he is feeding a live snake to his church members as a sign of belief that man can eat anything.
“Man of God declared a snake to become a chocolate (chomp) and the congregation ate it. We have authority to change everything into anything and it will obey because of our authority.” A statement reads on the Facebook post, which received tons of criticisms and negative comments against the self-proclaimed prophet.
“Man of God said they must bring a rock and He turned it into bread. Satan have been making people fools. Satan said to Jesus ‘turn a rock into a bread’ he knew that he could do it however his motive was wrong.” Another statement reads on a separate post on the same day. Other photos show the non-traditional pastor holding a Bible.
Apparently, Pastor Penuel used the Bible verse Romans 14:2-3 which says, “One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.”
Days later, the SPCA in South Africa accused Penuel Mnguni of animal cruelty. He was proven guilty and was arrested last week. He admitted giving orders to his church members to eat live snakes. The pastor said he is not keeping the snakes, and just pick them from somewhere. Last May, he told members to remove their clothes and stepped on them.
According to report at enca.com, the snake-feeding pastor appeared on court in Ga-Rankuwa, also in Pretoria this Monday. However, he was later released after he posted bail amounting to R1,500 (around $120.7). Since then, no photos at the End Times Disciples Ministries Facebook page show that members are eating live snakes again.
Here at TN, we strongly believe that eating a live snake and believing that it will taste like chocolate is a very clear sign of stupidity. In fact, you don’t have to use any kind of book to say that it is true or not. All you need to have is some common sense. We are therefore encouraging all its members to run away from their sick pastor, while they are still alive. Beware of false prophets.
