A netizen claimed that a certain P01 Leo Encarnacion attempted to extort money from him, and even fired his gun to scare him. According to Kenneth Ang, owner of Gymaholic Fitness Center in Parañaque, the problem started when he invited a group of young policemen to do some workout in his gym for free. Below is the full context of his Facebook post.
According to Ang, P01 Encarnacion sent him a text message last Sunday (July 17) night telling him that he is at his bar, so he went to him. The gym owner said he remembered giving the young policemen his number as one of those who invited to use his gym for free. Kenneth said he later noticed that the young police seems to be up to something.
“Poproteksiyonan kita boss! (I will protect you, boss!)” P01 Leo Encarnacion allegedly told Kenneth Ang a couple of times. Ang said he initially appreciated the concern of P01 Encarnacion, but noted that he somehow sensed that the young policeman is trying to ask money from him as ‘protection money,” which is a clear extortion and is an illegal act.
Ang said he told P01 Encarnacion that he already knows some policemen in his precinct, thinking that the young policemen might go away. However, he said that the policeman told him, “Hindi mo kailangan ang proteksyon ko? (You don’t need my protection?)”, adding that he noticed P01 Encarnacion holding his gun in his waist, and tried to scare him.
“Hindi mo kailangan ang proteksyon ko? Dapat sarado na bar mo ha! May curfew ha?” (You don’t need my protection? Your bar should already be closed! There is a curfew).” P01 Leo Encarnacion allegedly told Kenneth Ang, who replied telling the policeman to prove to him that there is really an existing city ordinance on curfew against bars just like his.
Confident that his business is legal and that it has the necessary permits, Kenneth Ang said he tried to be straightforward to P01 Encarnacion. However, he said he noticed that there is another police officer around which he assumed as a companion of P01 Encarnacion. Ang said he decided to walk away. But then, the trouble has just started.
Kenneth Ang said that shortly after, P01 Leo Encarnacion started to look for him and became arrogant to his staff when they told him that their boss left. Nevertheless, Ang said that the young policeman was very persistent to find him. The worst part? Ang said he secretly saw P01 Encarnacion firing his gun at the guard house of Ireneville Subdivision.

In one of the replies to comments, PO3 Reynaldo O. Samson, (Ph.D. PASA), a Professor V at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC) wrote, “This incident has been forwarded to our Internal Affair Service, Camp Crame..We are very sorry for what happened and rest assured that the leadership of our organization will take this seriously…”
We at TN found P01 Leo Encarnacion’s Facebook page, and we have confirmed that it was his because it has the same photos that Kenneth Ang has included in his post. But as we browse it, his Facebook page has been deactivated. If proven guilty, we think that P01 Encarnacion should immediately be dismissed.
