Medina, who has earned some criticisms for her alleged lack of communication skills, made it to the Top 13, and later to the Top 6. She was allowed to use an interpreter during the Q&A portion, but she decided to answer the question in Filipino. Many netizens suggested that she could have been answered better, but some were already satisfied.
Meanwhile, VP Leni Robredo also congratulated the newly-crowned Miss Universe, Miss Haiti Raquel Pelissier (1st runner-up), Miss Colombia Andrea Tovar (2nd runner-up), as well as Miss Philippines Maxine Medina. But while she said she was happy with the results, the vice president had some advice to the Philippine government for the next year’s candidate.
VP Robredo said in an ambush interview.
