Miss Universe 2015 Sends Heartwarming Message to Miss Colombia, Asks Fans to Stop Fighting
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach sent a very heartwarming message to Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, and even asked the fans to stop fighting and posting hate comments. Her message comes three days after she won the most prestigious beauty contest in the world. Apparently, the event was surrounded with a lot of controversies and mixed reactions.
That day, host Steve Harvey announced that Miss Colombia won Miss Universe 2015, and Miss Philippines as the first runner-up. But shortly after, he announced that the winner is actually Miss Philippines and the first runner-up is Miss Colombia, and showed the card to the camera., The ‘Family Feud’ host said he made a mistake and humbly apologized to the public.
But it was not that as that. Right after the show, a Missosology correspondent interviewed Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Reik and asked her opinion about the contest. There, she said she’s not in favor of Miss Philippines, saying, “None of us voted for Philippines,” adding that she is so sorry for Miss Colombia. The next day, she apologized on Facebook for her comment.
Apparently, many Colombians were upset noting that they suspected a possible fraud, and that Steve Harvey did not really made a mistake. They said they believed that Miss Colombia is the real winner. Incidentally, the Miss Universe 2014 is also a Colombian, Paulina Vega. However, the Miss Universe Organization insisted that there was no cheating in the result.
For the message of Pia Wurtzbach posted at her official Instagram account and Miss Universe Facebook page this Thursday, December 25, Christmas Day, the 26-year old Filipina-German beauty from Cagayan de Oro said she is very grateful for winning Miss Universe 2015 after three attempts on Binibining Pilipinas, and described it as the best Christmas gift ever. Wow. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for this. It was quite a journey getting here with 3 attempts at winning Miss Philippines. Now, I finally got the best Christmas gift ever – and not just for me, for my country. I’d like to say thank you to everyone who believed in my potential and those who supported me from the beginning. To everyone who voted for me, especially to my fellow countrymen, thank you. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.
To Ariadna, you are an amazing woman and we are now bonded together forever by a unique experience. In the last 3 weeks we were together, I saw how strong and beautiful you are inside and out. You represented your country with honor and I know how proud everyone must be of you. Fate has a plan for you, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead.
And to all the fans who are still fighting about this…Please let’s all stop now. The Miss Universe Organization is about uniting empowered women from all over the world.
