Senator Antonio Trillanes IV leaves the Philippines again for the nth time, as presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte is now preparing his incoming administration. Interestingly, the losing vice-presidentiable was recently spotted in an airport, most likely at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) and later inside a commercial airplane.
Trillanes, who ran for vice president as independent but supporting the presidential bid of Sen. Grace Poe, consistently ranks at the 5th place (second to the last) since the start of the release of the partial and unofficial election results from the Commission on Election (Comelec). As of posting, the soldier turned politician has only 844,157 votes.
The last time that the public has heard from Sen. Trillanes was this Monday, May 15, when he talked the media. That day, he said that Mayor Rody Duterte could be subject for impeachment once he sits as the 16th president of the Philippines. This is if he continues to insist that the Philippines has lost its claim over Scarborough Shoal.

On the other hand, the Duterte camp is questioning Senator Trillanes for going to China 16 times as a ‘backdoor negotiator’ with China, appointed by President Noynoy Aquino. And although the senator said that the meetings did not include the territorial dispute issue, China later started its reclamation on some lands in South China Sea.
During the latter part of the election campaign period, Trillanes exposed to the media of what he claimed to be ill-gotten wealth of Mayor Duterte, including several BPI bank accounts. Duterte himself confirmed the existence of those accounts, and later showed details contrary to the senator’s claim that they contain millions of pesos.
