Von Tanto arrested Masbate

Von Tanto was arrested this Friday, July 29 through the combined efforts of Philippine Army Intelligence and Security Group, 9th Infantry Division and local police. Also known as Skyon Tonsky, Vhon Martin Tanto, was arrested at Barangay Poblacion East, Masbate Milagros at around 11:40am, according to Philippine Army chief Lt. Gen. Eduardo Año.

As reported at GMA News, Armed Forces spokesman Brig. Gen. Restituto Padilla said that Von Tanto did not resist arrest and was “accosted peacefully,, and was brought to 9th IB headquarters in Milagros before he will be turned over to Manila Police District (MPD). As of now, the 39-year old Quiapo road rage suspect has not been presented to the media.

As reported earlier, CCTV footage shows a driver of a red Hyundai Eon having an argument with a biker at around 9:36 pm, Tuesday night. The two men exchanged blows for around two minutes. But shortly, the driver went back to car and got his gun. He was seen shooting the biker in the face, and shot him three more times after he fell on the street.

Apparently, an 18-year old girl named Rosell Bondoc was hit by a stray bullet from the suspect, and is now in critical condition at the Mary Chiles General Hospital. The gunman, whose face was not clearly seen on the CCTV video immediately went back to his car and left as if nothing happened, with at least two people serving as witnesses to the crime.

The conduction sticker of the car used by the suspect was earlier mistakenly identified as MO3746, but was later confirmed to be MO3745, which belongs to Von Tanto. Meanwhile, Gen. Padilla clarified that the suspect is no longer a reservist of the Philippine Army, because he has not been attending events or meetings for reservists since January 2015.
