Lee Min Ho is now set to do a movie with Pop Star Princess, Sarah Geronimo. The surprise announcement was made today, Tuesday, February 24, just hours after the Korean superstar arrived in Manila to be a product endorser and to promote his latest movie, “Gangnam Blues” (or “Gangnam 1970” in Korea).

“Yes, the Lee Min Ho Sarah Geronimo movie project is now in talks, and is likely to push through.” Emelda del Rosario, Marketing Director of Viva Entertainment, said when a reporter asked her during the press conference with Lee Min Ho in Greenhills mall on Tuesday afternoon.

“But as of now, I cannot give further details. Let’s enjoy first the presence of Lee and his show.” Del Rosario added, congratulating the South Korean pop idol the success of his “Gangnam Blues.” The film opens in the Philippines this March, but has already made over $10 million in his home country alone.

“I’m very excited that finally my movie with Sarah is one step closer. I’ve never met her in person but I heard many wonderful things about her. I heard her songs and I think she is a great singer.” Lee said via an interpreter. The Korean idol has released two albums, My Everything (2013) and Song For You (2014).

Apparently, local fans have been requesting this upcoming Lee Min Ho-Sarah Geronimo movie for more than two years. YouTube movie fiction movie trailers have been released by Sarah G fans back in 2012 and the love team name “AshMin” was born. A Wattpad story titled “Conned Love” was written for them.

This is the fourth visit of Lee Min Ho to the Philippines. The last time was in March 2014 to be one of the product endorsers for the famous clothing line, Bench. That time, Lee told local reporters that he is very much willing to do a Filipino drama film as long as the character fits him.

For his “Gangnam Blues,” Lee said told local entertainment columnist, Ricky Lo that he is very proud of it because his character, Kim Jong-Dae is someone he could not portray convincingly when he gets older. From being a matinee idol, Lee turns into an action star in this socio-political film.

Meanwhile, the 27-year old “Boys Over Flowers” star will have a show at the Greenhills Theater Mall tonight, sponsored by KyoChon Chicken, a South Korean fried chicken store wherein Lee Min Ho graced its grand opening as its endorser. The said food chain also has branches in SM Megamall and SM Fairview.

As of posting, Sarah Geronimo has not commented on the dream movie with Lee Min Ho. The 26-year old singer-actress is supposed to do a movie with Piolo Pascual but it was cancelled. Instead, the Voice PH coach will reunite with John Lloyd Cruz for the fourth time as part of their romantic-comedy film series.
