A GMA News Davao reporter named John Paul Sarsuelo Seniel this Wednesday, May 11. posted an open letter to ABS-CBN news reporter Doris Bigornia, who was allegedly rude while the Kapuso news reporter was doing a live report in Davao City. With this, ABS-CBN released a statement this Friday, saying that they are now investigating the matter.
“Miss Doris Bigornia, please act with decency when you are with your fellow members of the media. Maybe you did not know that we had a live report for our GMA 24 Oras Southern Mindanao Newscast, i can forgive you on that, but you acted like you did not see anyone interviewing Mr. Bong Go.” Seniel wrote on his Facebook page.
According to Seniel, their DMNG Engineer named Al Lim Ramz politely told Doris Bigornia that she was blocking the way while he and Bong Go (the chief aide of presumptive President Rodrigo Duterte) are on live camera. However, the ‘Mutya ng Masa’ allegedly scolded the engineer, and told him, “sapakin kita” (I will punch you.)
The GMA News reporter noted that Bigornia is senior to him in terms of news reporting, but it does not mean that she should act rudely to towards him. He added that even if the controversial ABS-CBN news reporter is famous, she is not sure if many people really like her, and that she should show respect to the younger reporters.
Seniel said he decided to write an open letter to Doris Bigornia because he really felt disrespected. He noted that despite the heavy competition between ABS-CBN and GMA, Filipinos should still respect one another. On the latter part, the GMA News reporter said he has heard a lot of negative things about her, and that he has finally proven it.
