Eat Bulaga’s AlDub First Date TV Ratings Levels With 2 Pacquiao Fights
AlDub Nation has a new reason to celebrate, while ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime” hosts continue to scratch their heads. Once again, Eat Bulaga’s AlDub Kalyeserye is making history, after the first date of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (Yaya Dub) last Saturday, September 19, 2015 posted a super high TV rating, and has now reached the same level of two previous Manny Pacquiao fights.
According to the latest data from AGB Nielsen, AlDub’s first date posted a whooping rating of 43.1 in Mega Manila. And although the ratings of “It’s Showtime” was not mentioned, the figure has equalized the last two fights of Manny Pacquiao. The world knows that every fight of the Pinoy boxing icon is a blockbuster, especially for the Filipinos.
On November 23, 2014, Manny Pacquiao fought against WBO Light Welterweight Champion Chris Algieri in Macau and won the match via unanimous decision. The world witnessed 6 knockdowns of the American boxer, as Pacquiao dominated the entire fight. It was aired exclusively at GMA-7 and enjoyed a 43.8 rating in Mega Manila, or just 0.7 higher than the AlDub most awaited first date.
On the other hand, the controversial Pacquiao-Mayweather fight on May 2, 2015 posted a total rating of 44.4 (28.4 rating on GMA-7, 12.7 on ABS-CBN, and 3.3 on TV50. By doing simple math, the figure is just 1.3 higher than September 19, 2015 episode of Eat Bulaga. On that same day, the hashtag #AlDubMostAwaitedDate was tweeted more than 12 million times.
As of 12 noon today, September 26, 2015, the hashtag #ALDubEBforLOVE has already 12.9 million tweets and is expected to create a new Twitter record. Meanwhile, the hashtag #ShowtimeKapamiIyaDay of “It’s Showtime has only 400k tweets and still counting.” The show is celebrating its 6th year anniversary at the Araneta Coliseum, with special guests include the most popular love teams of the network such as KathNiel, JaDine and LizQuen.
Also dubbed as National Pabebe Wave Day, today is the day that Lola Nidora allowed Alden to visit Yaya Dub on their mansion. The AlDub couple was also allowed to be one-foot away from each other provided that there will be ‘no touch.’ The Pambansang Bae was also asked to bring ‘chicharon’ as present and to sing ‘God Gave Me You’ live to Yaya Dub.
