Davao City Mayor Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte is now leading in the 7-Election Gulp Cups 2016 presidential survey. This is according to the latest survey results from 7-Eleven Philippines, as part of their fun way to ask the Filipinos as who they want to be the next president of the Philippines. Meanwhile, Sen. Grace Poe lands on the second spot, but by far.
Dubbed as The Voice of the Gulp Generation that started this Wednesday, March 23, 7-Eleven Philippines customers can ‘vote’ in the 2016 elections by choosing the cup that has the photo of their presidential bet – VP Jejomar Binay, former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, Sen. Grace Poe, or Mayor Rody Duterte.

The result of the survey is not only on per region basis. On the site, you can select the province and municipality, so you’ll know who is the leading presidentiable in a particular area. However, there are regions and areas where the data is currently zero, and we don’t know why. But on the 7-Eleven Philippines Facebook page where the promo is posted, some netizens from different regions are posting photos of the location of the cups in the store. Apparently, the cup for Mayor Duterte are easily being sold out in many areas.
To be fair to all presidential candidates, all outlets are required to pull out all 7-Election Gulp cups if any one candidate is already sold out. The famous convenient store is also advising all customers to report any problem such as bar code machine malfunction, and to make their ‘votes’ are registered correctly.

This special promo for 7-Eleven 16oz Gulp to have an unofficial presidential survey started in the Philippines during the 2010 elections. That time, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III led the survey in the final results with 38 percent. Interestingly, this was very close to the actual results from the Comelec, where PNoy won with 39 percent.
This early, it is hard to conclude if Mayor Duterte will continue leading until the end of the 7-Election Gulp Cups presidential survey. Supporters of each candidate are being invited to visit their nearest 7-Eleven store to join the survey. The final result is expected to be released on May 9, 2016, the 2016 Philippine election day itself.
