Sofia Romualdez, the 16-year old daughter of former actress Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez and former Tacloban mayor Alfred Romualdez, cursed at Liberal Party (LP) vice-presidential bet, Leni Robredo on Twitter this Wednesday, May 11. Shortly after, Sofia and her mother Cristina apologized for the misbehavior on social media.
“Put***ina Leni bobo naman yan walang alam ta***na nyo.”Sofia Romualdez (@Sofia Romualdez) tweeted, who seems to be questioning the capability of Leni Robredo if elected president. Alfred Romualdez is the cousin of vice presidential candidate Sen. Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, is now trailing behind Robredo by a slim margin.

“What I said about Leni was out of frustration and anger. I’m human and I make mistakes too, I’m sorry if I offended anyone,” The teenage Romualdez tweeted, as Cristina Gonzales also said that she is sorry for her daughter’s anti-Leni Robredo tweet. She said Sofia is young and did not immediately realize her act was wrong.
“In behalf of my daughter Sofia, I would like to apologize for such words she tweeted about Leni. As a mother and most especially a Christian, I do not approve of such words.” Cristina Gonzales wrote, adding that she met Leni during the wake of the DILG Secretary Jessie Robredo. Sofia Romualdez’s Twitter account has been deactivated.

Leni Robredo is the running mate of former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas, who was seen and heard telling Alfred Romualdez, “You are a Romualdez, the president is an Aquino.” during a meeting for the Yolanda relief effort. This 2016 elections, Roxas ran for president but has already conceded defeat from Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
This Tuesday, May 10, the City Board of Canvassers (CBOC) proclaimed Cristina Gonzales-Romualdez as newly-elected mayor of Tacloban City after winning via landslide victory. Also known in local entertainment as Kring-Kring Gonzales, she obtained 72,077 votes against Neil Glova (23,612) and Golda Hilda Cabudoy (379).
Meanwhile, Leni Robredo has 13,972,158 votes against Bongbong Marcos with 13,759,612. This 212,546 lead by Robredo is as of 9:45am this Thursday, May 12, based on the partial and unofficial results, representing 95.72% of the Election Returns.
