Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte leads the presidential race, based on the partial and unofficial election results from the Commission on Elections (Comelec). But this early, netizens are asking for the free cake worth P10 million earlier promised by a chef. The said chef breaks his silence, but for some reason, he changed his statement.
According to Comelec, the vote counts or election results (ER) from the voting counting machines (VCMs) will be transmitted to the central server, to the municipal board of canvassers (MBOC), and to the transparency server. The Congress will act as the National Board of Canvassers, and is responsible for the canvassing of votes for the presidential race.
As of 11:45 pm this Monday, Duterte is consistently leading and being followed by former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. Meanwhile, Sen. Grace Poe lands at third, while VP Jejomar Binay and Sen. Miriam-Defensor Santiago are in the fourth and fifth place, respectively. Roy Seneres, who has withdrawn before he passed away, placed last.

For vice president, LP bet Leni Robredo, whose voting was delayed for more than an hour due to the malfunctioning of the vote counting machine (VCM), lands at second. Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano is on the third spot, while Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero lands fourth. Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV is fifth, while Sen. Gringo Honasan is last.
The top 12 senatoriables are Joel Villanueva, Franklin Drilon, Vicente “Tito” Sotto, Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson, Richard “Dick” Gordon, Risa Hontiveros, Juan Miguel Zubiri, Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, Manny Pacquiao, Sherwin Gatchalian, Ralph Recto, and Leila de Lima. Sergio Osmeña III is on the 13th spot, followed by Francis Tolentino.
As we reported last November 2015, Chef Jack Labang of Quim’s Cake promised hat he will give free cakes worth P10 million if Mayor Duterte shall win the elections. That time, he initially offered free cakes worth P5 million, but he later increased it to P10 million. He also called Duterte a liar when he eventually decided to run for president.

Now that Duterte is expected to win based on the current Comelec election results, netizens flocked his business page and demanded free cakes. Some of them said that Chef Labang should keep his promise, noting that the cakes he will give will be distributed to poor families. This Monday night, the chef posted this on Facebook.

“The people have spoken. Congrats to our new leader! As promised we will be happy to share our cakes for as long as he will also deliver his promise to solve criminality in 3-6 months.” Chef Labang wrote, who now has a lower tone but changes his earlier statement. As you can see, he now has a condition before he will give free cakes.
