Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Star Cinema representatives are now in a word war over the controversial results of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2015. As we all know, Ai-Ai is one of the stars of ‘My Bebe Love,’ the first-ever movie of the phenomenal AlDub love team. On the other hand, Star Cinema produced ‘Beauty and the Bestie,’ starring Vice Ganda and Coco Martin.
Apparently, the word war started when Mico del Rosario (AdProm manager of Star Cinema) posted on Instagram, thanking everyone who watched ‘Beauty and the Bestie.’ He also claimed that the movie is No.1 in the 41st annual MMMF, and made P400 million. The MMFF 2015 went on from December 25, 2015 to January 7, 2016, with a reported earnings of P1 billion.
But in a recent interview with GMA News, Ai-Ai said that ‘My Bebe Love’ is the No.1 in the MMFF box-office. And although the Comedy Queen didn’t mention the figures and to whom she wants to send her message, it appears that she is contradicting the claim of the Star Cinema representative. She even insisted that there was no cheating in everything they do.
“In our hearts, sa puso ng AlDub Nation, sa puso ng sambayanang Pilipino, No. 1 kami. Ayaw ni Lord ang nangdadaya. Karma is a bitch. Kahit yung No. 3, puwede din sabihin na No. 1 din sila, e. Kahit ano pa ang sabihin nila, ilalaban ko nang patayan, itataga ko sa bato, kami po ang No. 1.”
On Saturday, Mico del Rosario tweeted several messages, insisting that Star Cinema’s values are intact, and that it is not involved in any form of cheating the MMFF 2015 box-office results. He did not mention the name of Ai-AI delas Alas, but it’s very clear that this is his response to her accusation. He also urged the MMFF committee to release the exact earnings of all films.

In line with this, Star Cinema PR Roxy Liquigan also hit Ai-Ai on the issue, mentioning her name on his tweet, saying that she should reveal how much ‘My Bebe Love’ really earned instead of making false accusations against the movie outfit. He also mentioned being her friend when Ai-Ai was still a Kapamilya star, noting that the latter used to say that Star Cinema is the best.

As of posting, the MMFF committee has not released any official statement on the exact earnings of ‘My Bebe Love’, ‘Beauty and the Bestie’ and the other films. Nevertheless, GMA News reported that as of January 4, ‘My Bebe Love’ earned P322 million. A few hours ago, Roxy Liquigan tweeted that ‘Beauty and the Bestie’ already earned P472.2 million.
