Actress Maritoni Fernandez’s Sister Shot Dead, Found With Cardboard, ‘Drug Pusher ng mga Celebrities’

Ma. Aurora Moynihan, the younger sister of local actress Maritoni Fernandez was shot dead in Barangay Ugong Norte, Quezon City, at around 1:55 am, Sunday, September 11. Witnesses found her body was found lying in the street, with a cardboard saying,”Drug pusher ng mga celebrities, kasunod na kayo!” (Drug pusher of celebrities, you are next).

According to Philstar, unnamed witnesses said that silver Toyota Fortuner pulled over at along Temple Drive corner Giraffe Street at around 1:40 a.m. After a couple of minutes, they heard five gunshots and the car immediately left towards White Plains Avenue, leaving Moynihan’s body behind. The vehicle’s plate number was not identified.

Police investigators said they found 4 sachets of suspected shabu, 4 pieces of aluminum foil, three improvised lamps, and two improvised glass tooters inside Maritoni’s sister bag.
Nevertheless, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief Chief Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said that her death has not yet been confirmed to be connected to illegal drugs.

Eleazar added that the victim’s phone that was also recovered from the crime scene may contain leads to the suspects and if she is really a drug pusher to celebrities. Moynihan was said to 45 years old, and living at Ecology Village along Edsa Boulevard in Makati City. As of posting, Maritoni Fernandez has not yet released a comment about her sister’s death.

Last Thursday, September 8, Lea Salonga’s half brother was arrested in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City in a buy-bust operation. The suspect, who was identified as Philip Salonga, 37 , was arrested outside a bar in Ortigas Center at around 2:30 am. His arrest came shortly after his alleged cohort in selling drugs was arrested in Barangay Pinyahan, Quezon City.

Salonga admitted using and selling ecstasy only when clients text him but he denied being a drug supplier. He also clarified that his half-sister Lea Salonga does not know his illegal activities. Nevertheless, the Miss Saigon star still issued a statement, saying that if Philip will be proven guilty, then he should take responsibilities for his actions.
